The Hundred Years War, the Plague, poverty - surely the late Middle Ages (1300-1500) were a gloomy period for anyone, let alone women? No, there’s more to it: there were medieval women writers, artists, leaders, thinkers. This is about a wholly different side of the Middle Ages. You will get introduced to the inspiring, accomplished female authors and mystics from Western and Northern Europe and their lives, works, and ideas.
